Topics for Speaking 12 – HAPPINESS

  1. Through centuries, humanity has always been in search of happiness, but happiness is like a fugitive bird. The more we run after it the father it files from us. Happiness is something relative. It depends on how people conceive it. The conceptions of happiness are many and various. Some think that money and good health are essential conditions of happiness, some others look for happiness in their regular work and daily duties, and others identify happiness with a peace of mind and a clear conscience.
  2. People are happy when they have success, honor, property, earthly pleasures, and satisfaction. However, if happiness depends on such things, it will soon collapse. Success is not always easy to get. Honor is the only opinion of others. Money is very ephemeral. And, our fortune may vanish in a twinkling. As a result, the above things cannot quite satisfy all our desires.
  3. In real life, happiness is surprisingly simple. A person is considered happy when he has nothing to complain about and when he is given all what he ever dreams of. Happiness to a poor man only means having enough food for two meals and clothes to keep warm. Happiness in daily life never comes to us by accident, and to be able to enjoy a happy life, we have to build it up. When still young, a person has to devote all his time to his study for a reason that without the certain level of education, it is hard for him to get a job with a fairly high salary. With a stable job, life seems to be easier and happier.
  4. If the husband and the wife live in harmony with each other and know how to educate the children to become pious children in the family and useful citizens for the society, their family is certainly full of happiness.
  5. In short, we can find happiness through living on our own labor, knowing how to live with what we can afford, never dreaming of what’s beyond our reach or getting jealous of other’s happiness, and being brave enough to face the ups and downs of life.
