Topics for Speaking 2 – SCHOOLDAY

  1. How often we are asked about the happiest days of our life, and then most of us can have the same reply – the days when we were still at school – our schooldays. It’s no wonder that after having left school, most people have some regret of their schooldays, the days when they are free from worries and when they do not have much responsibility to their family and their society. When at school, friendship is a noble sentiment. We, students, younger and older alike, deal with each other with all our heart and true feelings and not through reputation or social positions.
  2. However, whether or not schooldays are the happiest days of a man’s life depends on the private situation of each individual. It may be that students who come from poor families find it hard to consider their schooldays to be the happiest days of their life, for a reason that in the struggle for living, they have to go to school and at the same time to do some work to support for themselves and for their families.
  3. Is it right to say that students of rich families find their school days the happiest days of their life? This is partly true. If their families are rich, they do not have to worry about anything. They do not have to struggle to earn their living but only devote all their time to studying. In some aspect, these are the happiest days.
  4. I was born in a poor family, but the days when we were still at school, to me, are always the best days of my life. I still have a lot of sweet memories from the first time my young mother took me to school with my face full of tears to the time I was met by my old mother with her bright smile after my college-graduation ceremony. I also see that only after having left school for a long time do some of us realize that schooldays are the happiest days. Whatever you may say, I find that anyone, in spite of the ups and downs in life, should give himself a time to remember and a time to love.
